Does The Emsella Treatment Really Work? | Urinary Incontinence Treatment in Long Island

DOES THE EMSELLA TREATMENT REALLY WORK?

It can be embarrassing and distressing to lose control of your bladder or develop leakage problems. The Emsella treatment strengthens your pelvic muscles to improve bladder control. At Invigorate Health in Long Island we can provide the Emsella treatment and relief you need.

6 THINGS TO EXPECT

1. The Results will be a hit

There are many reasons you may be having trouble controlling your bladder. Stress urinary incontinence can cause leaks and accidents if you strain your bladder or cough. This type of urinary incontinence is common after your pelvic floor muscles have been weakened by such things as pregnancy. This area of your body’s muscles may also change with age or menopause.

Emsella for incontinence can help with this. You will be able to sit on our Emsella chair that uses electromagnetic energy to strengthen your pelvic floor and treat urinary incontinence. You will see dramatic improvements in your leaking and accidents after 6 Emsella treatments.

2. Initial Consultation

Before you are able to receive your first Emsella treatment, we will perform an initial consultation to make sure you are eligible for the treatment and that it will truly address the issues that you’re suffering from. While the Emsella treatment is great at fixing urinary incontinence caused by weakened pelvic floor muscles, the Emsella treatment can’t treat all types of incontinence.

Talking about your Urinary Incontinence

We will discuss your issues with the urinary tract during our meeting. You should bring with you details about any leaking or accidents that you have had. We may also need to review your medical history.

How to determine your eligibility

This information will be used to determine if you are eligible for the Emsella treatment. This treatment may not be available to you if you have certain medical conditions or health issues.

As an example, if you are experiencing urinary incontinence issues after receiving radiation therapy, you may not be able to use the treatment. In addition, you may not be eligible for the Emsella treatment if you have a pacemaker or another implanted metal device is in your body.

3. You will receive non-invasive treatments

To regain control over your bladder, you don’t need to have anesthesia or undergo incisions. The procedure is 100% non-invasive. You can remain fully clothed during your appointments.

The Emsella treatment will begin with you removing any metals or electronics from your pockets such as cell phones, wallets, keys, and then you will simply take a seat on the Emsella chair. The Emsella chair will transmit electromagnetic energy to your pelvic floor muscles once you’re seated down. You will feel a slight tingling sensation as your muscles contract. The sensation will not be uncomfortable and you won’t need to use any anesthesia or medication during Emsella treatment.

4. There won’t be any downtime

You don’t have to worry about having to take time off work or change your daily routine for this treatment. After strengthening your pelvic muscles, it’s possible to leave our office in Long Island and return to your everyday activities such as going to work or running errands.

5. A minimum of 6 treatments is required

Emsella treatments may help improve your urinary incontinence after one treatment, however, you will still need multiple sessions to really see the benefits. Between each Emsella treatment, you will need to wait a few days before having your next treatment. This gives the pelvic floor muscles time to recover and strengthen.

Maintenance Sessions

Routine maintenance sessions may be beneficial for you. After you have finished your initial 6 sessions Emsella treatment, we can provide more information about the maintenance treatments. Typically we recommend a single maintenance treatment every 6 months.

Making Improvements

The Emsella treatment is very fast and you will notice a change in your bladder control soon after your first session. Your leakage, accidents, or other urinary incontinence issues should decrease as you continue to receive more sessions.

6. You will have a better quality of life

Having urinary incontinence can make you unhappy and lower your self-confidence. Fear of having leaks or accidents can prevent you from going to parties and enjoying social events with friends and family. You might also turn down job opportunities that require you to spend a lot of time away from home.

You can make your life easier and accept new challenges at work by regaining control over your bladder. You will feel happier and more confident. Clinical studies have shown that 95% of patients reported a better quality of life after their Emsella treatment.
